The Skilling Programs at ARTPARK-IISc are dedicated to nurturing talent and accelerating skills development at both regional and national levels. Focused on bridging the gap in translating knowledge into real-world applications, these programs introduce motivated individuals to the fields of Robotics and Autonomous Technologies. We provide participants with expert guidance, cutting-edge infrastructure, and extensive learning opportunities, empowering them to advance their skills in Robotics, AI, and Machine Learning, and achieve their technical and professional aspirations.

Fellowships

 ARTPARK-IISc offers Top-Up Fellowships and Stipends for innovative student projects in Robotics, Autonomous Systems, and AI. Open to students from reputable Indian higher-education institutions, this fellowship supports final-year Bachelor's and Master's students working on cutting-edge projects. Started from September 2023 to March 2024, with an extension option until July 2024, the fellowship provided a monthly stipend of Rs. 12,500 for Master’s students and Rs. 7,000 for Bachelor's students. With 15 projects selected, 29 students (18 UG, 11 PG) are involved, along with 14 supervisors from their parent institutions.

Summer Internships

Internships in SWARM Robotics

Duration : 2 Months (June to July 2024)

The project aims to design and develop the Rigbetel Tortoise Bot for Swarm Robotics, focusing on defense applications. We strive to create a versatile, agile, and robust robotic platform capable of autonomous navigation, surveillance, reconnaissance, and coordination in complex and hostile environments, thereby enhancing defense capabilities and situational awareness.

A total of 9 students have been selected for this summer internship across various institutes and universities.

  • 2- day workshop held on 17th & 18th July 2024 at ARTgarage

    The "Introduction to Robotics" course comprehensively covers the definition and key characteristics of robots, including autonomy, sensors, actuators, and programming; details the essential components needed to build a robot, such as power supplies, microcontrollers, and various sensors and actuators; delves into the basics of programming and control systems, providing an overview of programming languages, control mechanisms, and practical examples; explores the diverse applications of robots in fields like manufacturing, logistics, and inventory management; and offers practical workshops for building, programming, and troubleshooting robots, thus providing participants with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience to understand and create robotic systems effectively​.

  • This course focuses on business communication for Startups, covering basic to advanced skills in professional English communication that are critical for business success, fostering professional growth and enabling effective interactions in various business environments.

    Scope: Basic to Advanced Communication, Presentation Skills, Technical Digital & Leadership Communication, Soft Skills Development.

     Duration: 6 months (From March 2024 to till date)

  • Quality Improvement Program (Ongoing) 2024 [From January - till date]

    Collaboration with Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA). Organised for ARTPARK’s Startups incubated at ARTgarage

    This course is ideal for those who are responsible for product development, operations management, quality control, and engineering including department managers, supervisors, quality representatives, engineers, and for Entrepreneurs who have a focus on business improvement, performance, and profitability.

    Program Overview:

    Objective: To empower Participants/Entrepreneurs with a holistic skill set to thrive in the dynamic manufacturing landscape.

    Duration: The training program spans 26 days (15 modules), consisting of interactive sessions, workshops, and practical exercises. 

    Key Focus Areas: Importance of Training in Frameworks, Systems, Tools, Techniques, Practices, and Manufacturing Specific Standards.

  • The Robot Training Platform event, titled "Transform Theory to Practice," was held at ARTGarage, on November 21 and 22, 2023. This two-day event attracted participants from across India, including faculty members, PhD scholars, and startups with an interest in robotics.

    Sessions were facilitated by experts from both academia and industry, including Prof. Sashikumaar Ganesan, Chair of CDS at IISc, along with representatives from Difacto, Systemantics India Pvt Ltd., Ati Motors, RigBetel, and MathWorks. These experts delivered didactic presentations, interactive sessions, and hands-on demonstrations.

    The event covered a range of topics, providing insights into manipulators, actuators, and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). Additional subjects included their applications in the Robot Operating System (ROS), the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in robotics, and the use of ROS applications in MATLAB.

  • The Familiarization Workshop on Robotics and Autonomous Systems, which included lectures and demonstrations, was a one-day event held on September 4, 2023, at ARTGarage. The workshop attracted participants from startups, as well as students and faculty from academia. This event was organized under the CAMRAS Program by ARTPARK at IISc Bengaluru and was supported by the Ministry of Heavy Industries, the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and the Government of Karnataka.

    This workshop featured sessions on the following topics: Introduction to UAVs, SLAM, Robotics and Human Interfacing, Robotics Actuation, and Sensors and Tactile CPS with a use case in Robotic Surgery.

  • Established in 1975, the Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST) aims to improve the standard of living in Karnataka, especially in rural areas, through science and technology initiatives. Its main objectives include identifying applications of S&T for state development, formulating relevant policies and programs, and coordinating and implementing these programs with various state government departments.

    ARTPARK has sponsored 124 projects to support and coordinate applied research programs in universities and other institutions, focusing on areas suitable for science and technology application. Additionally, KSCST promotes effective coordination and communication between research centers, government agencies, farms, and industries to initiate promising R&D work.

  • The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) is a global, non-profit community dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs worldwide. TiE believes in the transformative power of ideas and fosters business growth through its five pillars: mentoring, networking, education, incubation, and funding.

    Founded in 1992 by a group of successful entrepreneurs, TiE is now the largest entrepreneurial organization in the world. TiE Pune, through programs like "Nurture" for structured mentoring, master classes, university programs for young entrepreneurs, and women's initiatives, is creating a significant platform to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs.

    Recently, TiE Pune commenced the Guru Sessions for the 12th Nurture cohort. The sessions on "Basics of Finance" and "Go-to-Market Strategy" were highly engaging, led by mentors Ashish Goyal and Kiran Deshpande. These sessions saw active participation from startup founders across Surat, Nagpur, Bengaluru, and Nasik, with a strong demand for extended workshops.

ARTPARK x STEMpedia

  • STEMpedia organized an online bootcamp for educators from 21st August to 2nd September 2023, attracting over 4500 participants from more than 100 countries. This bootcamp aimed to enhance educators' understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Robotics, and Python Programming. The program was designed for educators who wish to integrate these technologies into their teaching practices and enrich their students' learning experiences.

    The two-week bootcamp successfully covered a range of AI and robotics concepts, including face detection, object detection, Chat GPT, Python programming, human body detection, machine learning, natural language processing, self-driving cars, and hand pose recognition.

    Over 1000+ educators received badges for their participation, 15 educators were awarded prizes for their outstanding performance, and more than 2000 educators earned certification from this international bootcamp.

    International Educator's Bootcamp 2023

  • Codeavour 5.0 is the premier international innovation festival for the next generation, hosted annually by STEMpedia and ARTPARK. This event encourages participants to create innovative projects that contribute to making the world a better place through hands-on learning with PictoBlox.

    Through comprehensive training sessions and workshops, students delve into the exciting realms of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Machine Learning (ML), Coding, and Robotics. Codeavour 5.0 International engages participants in interactive activities, promoting a learn-by-doing approach and offering doubt-solving sessions.

    This festival aims to foster the development of critical 21st-century skills: Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication. Participants are divided into three age groups:

    1. Elementary (7-10 years old)

    2. Junior (11-14 years old)

    3. Senior (15-18 years old)

  • The AI & Robotics Innovation Lab Program aims to inspire the next generation of female leaders in STEM by providing them with the tools, knowledge, and opportunities necessary to excel. This initiative aligns seamlessly with NTPC’s mission to foster innovation and empower young minds, ensuring a brighter and more equitable future for all.

    Curriculum and Content: The curriculum covers computer basics, programming, AI, robotics, and Python, with a strong emphasis on hands-on learning aligned with NEP 2020.

    Duration: 24 months (starting from 8th July 2023)

    In collaboration with STEMpedia and ARTPARK, an Innovation Lab has been established at MJPAPBCWR School and Junior College in Thanam, exclusively dedicated to empowering girls in grades 11-12 who are passionate about science and technology. This lab, equipped with cutting-edge technology, provides a conducive environment for young female students to explore, experiment, and excel in these exciting fields.

    Facilities: The lab features computer systems, WiFi connectivity, a projector, a Learning Management System (LMS), Quarky kits (hardware), and the PictoBlox software ecosystem, allowing at least 70 students to learn essential 21st-century skills.

ARTPARK x Zenteiq AI-Tech Innovations

  • The AI-MPOWER Program, supported by ARTPARK and offered by the Department of Computational and Data Science at IISc, Bengaluru, aims to empower educators for the data-driven future. This initiative is specifically designed for faculty members and research scholars in Computer Science, Mathematics, ECE, EE, and related fields.

    If you are a faculty member/research scholar or anyone who is keen to learn, AI-MPOWER is tailored for you. The program seeks to enhance the capabilities of faculty and research scholars from Indian science and engineering colleges by providing the necessary knowledge, skills, and tools to seamlessly integrate Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning into their curriculum.

    This faculty development initiative aims to elevate the quality of education, foster innovation, and prepare educators for a future where Artificial Intelligence plays a central role.
